Dog

Dog case studies

‘Dog’ is never just one mood. Each one is themselves in their own way.

The bright, playful walking buddy

Afternoon sun, ears in the wind, mouth wide in a full grin toward the camera.

Traits we noticed

  • A mouth that stays half-open, tongue resting to one side
  • The habit of only the left ear curling up mid-stride
  • A red walking harness that reads almost like a signature

Final character

We built the character around the grin, pulled the harness red in as an accent colour, kept the linework round and light, and held the expression on the edge of ‘okay, shall we run now?’.

Sample uses

  • Profile image · front-facing grin
  • Stickers · ‘yes!’, ‘let’s go!’, ‘running!’
More than any photo I have, this one image explains her. Especially the tongue-out look — that’s her.Guardian of the walking buddy

The quiet silver-coat who stays close

Early-morning light, looking out the window — silver fur, a soft grey-blue palette.

Traits we noticed

  • A silver coat worn by time, especially white around the muzzle
  • Soft creases at the eyes; the left one always opens first
  • A long-shared tartan blanket that seems to travel with him

Final character

We kept the lines thinner to hold the delicacy of age, made quiet poise the centre of the design, and carried the tartan through as a signature so the feel of ‘always here’ reads at a glance.

Sample uses

  • Profile image · side view by the window
  • Transparent-background cut for family group shots
Not sad — settled. That’s exactly the feel of our home.Guardian of the silver-coat
Cat

Cat case studies

Cats are read quietly — more about posture than expression, more about gaze than posture.

The elegant watcher who owns the window

Late afternoon, striped light through the blinds, a composed side profile.

Traits we noticed

  • Eyes that only open halfway; all the more composed when they narrow
  • Front paws tucked together with perfect precision
  • A coffee-cream coat over white, with a small notch on the right ear

Final character

We narrowed the eye ratio carefully to hold the observer’s distance, softened the outline while keeping the posture composed, and let a sliver of that striped light stay in the background.

Sample uses

  • Profile image · half-open eyes
  • Sticker set · ‘hmm…’, ‘as you like’, ‘observing’
Not just drawn-pretty — drawn as her. That gaze is her, exactly.Guardian of the window watcher

The tiny explorer, all curiosity

A pause on the living-room rug after chasing a runaway toy, round eyes fixed on the lens.

Traits we noticed

  • Round, bright eyes with wide pupils most of the time
  • The thinking-pose with one front paw raised
  • A tail tip that curls into a small question mark

Final character

We made curiosity the visual engine — slightly exaggerating the eye and ear ratio — and kept the question-mark tail as a signature, so any expression still reads as this cat.

Sample uses

  • Profile image · direct gaze
  • Sticker set · ‘what is it?’, ‘did you hear that?’, ‘wow!’
  • Gift piece · adoption-anniversary postcard illustration
If he were a person, I think he would look exactly like this. One look and it’s him.Guardian of the little explorer
